SCHOOL READINESS GOAL: Children will engage in conversations, follow directions, and comprehend language.

Please choose one activity below, circle which one you completed, and sign when completed. Menus should be sent back when students return to school.

COOKING TOGETHER: Make a simple snack, such as a fruit salad or a sandwich. Give your child one or two steps to do at a time, like "wash the apple, then put it in the bowl." Talk about how things taste, smell, and feel. Count the pieces of food out loud together.

SIMON SAYS: Give one-step and two-step directions. Gradually make directions more challenging. Example: "Simon says touch your nose," "Simon says clap your hands and then jump."

FOLLOW THE LEADER: Take turns being the leader. Give directions such as "hop three times," "walk backwards," or "spin around and sit down."

TREASURE HUNT: Hide an object somewhere in your home. Give your child clues to describe where the object is, such as "look under something soft" or "find something that is round." Encourage your child to listen carefully before searching.

In addition to completing one of the above activities, please read together each NTI day.
