SCHOOL READINESS GOAL: Children will use math daily to count, compare, relate, and problem-solve.

Please choose one activity below, circle which one you completed, and sign when completed. Menus should be sent back when students return to school.

COUNT EVERY DAY OBJECTS: Count toys, snacks, shoes, or household items together. Ask questions like "how many do you have?," "can you find five more?," "how many are left?"

SORT AND CLASSIFY: Sort objects by color, shape, size, and/ or texture. Use socks, buttons, blocks, or toys. Ask "how did you decide where these belong?"

COMPARE SIZES: Compare every day objects. Ask questions like "which spoon is longer?", "which toy is smaller?" who has more crackers?" Use words such as more, less, bigger, smaller, taller, shorter, heavier, lighter.

SHAPE HUNT: Look for shapes around your home or neighborhood. Find circles, squares, rectangles, and triangles. Ask your child "What shape is this?" Then ask them, "where do you see this shape?"

In addition to completing one of the above activities, please read together each NTI day.
