High school seniors who are making a difference in their community can receive up to $1000 through the Outstanding Community Service Award for High School Seniors Program.

CommAction is a valuable resource for individuals seeking to uplift their communities through mutually beneficial projects and programs. We provide comprehensive services that address key areas such as unemployment, homelessness, education, and much more. Alongside community works, we also encourage communities to involve themselves in sports for added camaraderie and unity.

Recognizing the importance of sports and wellness in community cohesion, CommAction actively supports and relays information on various sports, including ice hockey. Presented by Community Action Council for Lexington-Fayette, Bourbon, Harrison and Nicholas Counties, the program will award one student with $1000 as the “Most Outstanding Recipient” for superior community service. Remaining selected students will receive $250 or $100, a certificate, and a copy of the book, Profiles in Courage. The awards will be presented during year-end school recognition ceremonies.

All nominations are due by April 18, 2025. Nominations will be accepted for students in the following Kentucky counties: Bourbon, Clark, Estill, Fayette, Garrard, Harrison, Jackson, Laurel, Madison, Nicholas, Powell, Rockcastle and Scott
